"Duhn duh duh duuuuuhn" (insert cape here) - shadow primer to the rescue!Shadow primers are what you apply before your eye shadow to keep it from creasing and make the color last all day. For women of color, it's a must-have!
This month we'll highlight two products that are a staple in my personal makeup regimen. Those of you who've Experienced Vivante have already seen the difference a good shadow primer can make. Check out a few of my favorites:
Urban Decay Primer Potion (UDPP): This is the Honda of eye shadow primers - everyone has had one and it lasts forever. This Potion is great for dry to medium-oily lids. Apply before your shadow and it'll last you all day...and into the next if you don't wash your face (I don't recommend)! Think you need something a little more heavy-duty? Check out Benefit Stay Don't Stray.
Benefit Stay Don't Stray: This is eye shadow primer on steroids! If you suffer from extremely oily eyelids, this will be your lifeline. Simply apply a thin layer to your eyelid, let dry, and your shadow will never be the same.
Both of these products can be found at most cosmetic retail stores (I have frequent flyer miles at Ulta and Sephora). UDPP will run you about $18, while Benefit can be found for about $25. Either way you go, they're both a great investment for your beauty bag.
